McCain Romney Gun
Jul 1st, 2008 | By admin | Category: FeaturedIf you are looking for a savior of the 2nd Amendment on the “conservative ticket” I am sorry to inform you that you’ll only find rhetoric. More truthfully, there is not conservative ticket. At least not one on their way to the White House. You’ll find a few pretenders, but the conservatives are becoming a dinosaur. I, personally, have mixed feeling about this because I love and hate the conservatives. I love their principles they make sense about lots of things but I hate when they try and federally impose their views on all states and individuals domestic (and foreign).
Many conservative views on gun laws the right to bare arms makes sense to me but sadly they have no candidates with the voting history to back up their claims.
McCain & Guns
The Maverick failed Congressional efforts to regulate all sales at gun shows. Riding shot gun on the straight talk express was none other than Connecticut Senator Palpatine.. I mean, Joe Lieberman. The group Americans for Gun Safety laid down some suppressive fire so they could get the law some additional cover, but it was shot down. For all his pandering to the conservative right, the “Mac’s” Gun Owner Association’s Rating speaks for itself. Obama is the anti-christ for gun owners, but at least he says what he will actually for.

Like Senator McCain, Romney talks a good game but his record paints an entirely different story.
As he travels through the South — contemplating a run for the presidency — Mitt Romney sounds like the modern-day incarnation of John Wayne.
He tells shooters how he used to hunt rabbits as a boy. He visits with attendees at gun shows, impressing them with his knowledge of the Bill of Rights. He quotes the “right to keep and bear arms” language from memory and assures gun owners he’s on their side.
But wait, isn’t this the same Mitt Romney — the former governor of Massachusetts — who boasted that his view on firearms was “not going to make me the hero” of the gun lobby? http://www.gunowners.org/pres08/romney.htm
When Romney ran for Senate in 1994, he told the Boston Herald that he supported the Brady gun-control law and a ban on scores of semi-automatic firearms. Both laws were heavily supported by Democrats and — according to President Bill Clinton — were the reason that his party lost control of the Congress in 1994.
