Thomas Friedman is right, the time to strike Iran is 5 November 2008.   But our strike shouldn’t come with the sting of Navy/air forces missles or Iraq deployed army crossing the border.  We should strike with an Olive branch and agreement if Barack Obama gets in office while Iran is currently in an economic crisis.  If Euro & American (w/new attitude) approached Iran with a hand out while there down it might send message necessary to get them to abandon Nuclear weapon ambitions.

There is not reason to think that anything can be done except for more war under the Bush administration particularly now that the U.S. did an airstrike in Syria http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Middle_East/JJ29Ak02.html

The Bush administration’s constant short sighted, impulsive, dangerously foolish actions continue to push everyone further away.  Even if there were bad guys in Syria, taking them out could have been done with black ops, instead its done purposely loud and showy to make some sort of political statement that no one understands.
